Be a good example

Today's word: 1 Timothy 4:12-16

12Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

How about you?

What kind of an example are you setting for others to follow? If you're always late, or if you like to say words that are not nice, someone will notice. If you are helpful, and if you wear a smile, someone will notice that too. Ask God to help you set the right example.

To memorize: Titus 2:7

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness

yep powerhouse....God has made us special...we need to always be aware that we are a good example of Christ...either in public as powerhouse or in school as an individual...i think people will only hear what we need to say after they see our action...

I dont think i'm setting a good example... >.<

my fav passage man.....really good piece of scripture for young people. U guys are a really gifted and favoured bunch of young people. But i realise sometimes u think that u're inadequate. But remind yourselves...what God says:Do not neglect your gift. In our weakness, God's strength is made perfect. Every time u have a negative thought about the impact u can make as a young person to the people around you - take that thought captive and surrender it to the Lord Jesus. These are just empty lies of the enemy. We do not wage war against flesh and blood but principalities. So young people, powerhouse. Go out there, empowered by the Holy Spirit, not forgetting the gifts God has equipped u with - Go make a difference in the world!!

Devil condemns. God convicts.
Sound advice frm Susan. Now to live it out PowerHouse!

I make harsh comments often... repent repent repent.

Through faith and trust in Jesus our Lord and Saviour& empowered by the Holy Spirit, let us all give the sly devil a kick in the butt the next time he comes around....

hi eulogia
nice to see you posting your comments on the devotional and sharing your thoughts. Do you mind revealing your `secret identity??' ;)

was partly inspired by you suz m to share my thoughts. Would prefer not to reveal identity at the moment.BUT if you or your Powerhouse members can draw a rectangle with three lines (rest assured it can be done)then I will buy you a lunch (together with a chaperone if so desired). Do take up the challenge!

haiya eulogia.....you really want to keep me guessing ah!! ;) ehehehhe
Need to pray and fast and ask God to reveal to me in a dream....of how to draw a rectangle in 3 lines lah! ;)
Great to have you at the blog. Your comments have been inspiring to all of us. Blessings

hey suz m,
no need to fast, just prayer will do,
hahaha.. Since you are really keen to find out who i am, here is a clue for you.

"salvation triumphs always & love endures.why?"

c'mon just think for a while and I know you can do it.

You know, drawing a rectangle with three lines was part of a one minute test. If it is any consolation, i faied. Thought it was not possible until it was revealed how. Will show you all one of these days.

Powerhouse is truly blessed. I can feel the empowerment of the Holy Spirit on all of you even from the contents/comments that I have read so far.

Go forth and do great exploits for the Lord.
