Follow God's rules
Today's word: James 1:19-25
19My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. 21Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
Do you know God's rules? Fo you follow them, or do you change them to suit yourself? You need to refer to His "rule sheet", the bible, so you'll know what He says. But knowing isn't enough. You need to follow His rules- to do what He says-as well.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves

Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

This scripture is just so important. we need to connect head knowledge to our heart!! there's another scripture - do not be conform to the patterns of this world be be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
i truly believe that it is not enough to just skim and read the word of God but we need to meditate on it. As we meditate on it, it will sink into our spirit and change the way we think - from the our fleshy thoughts to Godly thoughts
