Be rooted in Christ
Today's word: Colossians 2:1-7
1 For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and[a] of Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it[b] with thanksgiving.
How about you?
Do you take advantage of opportunities to be rooted in the Lord? Do you study your Bible? Listen in church? Take time to pray? You need to do those things. You need to be firmly rooted and established in your faith in Christ.
To memorize: Colossians 2:7
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it[b] with thanksgiving

had some discussion with one of Venetia's friend yesterday... An aethist or however you spell it... He asked loads of questions and at times i felt that i was came short on answers. I really think that its EXTREMELY important to be rooted in Christ. Serously the time will come when you get tested. Will you be able to hold up?

yup yup yup
Just as plants need certain vital components to grow, so do we Christians. Hence the reference to "rooted". For us, it's studying the Bible and prayer and fellowship, etc.
Back to the Word of God. 2 Tim 2:15 says "Do your BEST to PRESENT yourself to God as one APPROVED, a WORKMAN who does not need to be ashamed and who CORRECTLY HANDLES the Word of Truth." (Emphasis in Capitals mine)Paul wrote that with good reason. If we dont know what is right, then we wont know what isnt right....
