Heavenly treasure is priceless
19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
How about you?
Is there something you want very much? Maybe it's a thing some of your friends have or something you saw on television. Earthly treasures don't last. Serving Christ brings treasure you will never lose. It's more priceless than all the possessions in the world.
To memorize: Matthew 6:20-21
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

nothing wrong in longing for a better computer. (mine is so slow and cluttered up that it is past its time to go to wherever computers go to upon that grand final deletion).
Hey, my heart is in Powerhouse, does that mean that there are treasures waiting to be found ?

yalah ven....the passage is from the bible mah! ;) that's why familiar ?!
Like Eulogia said..there is nothing wrong in wanting a new PC....ie possessions. But we need to ask....why do I want a new PC? If it's to consume myself with CounterStrike to the point I neglect my devotional time....then it's not good lah. But if you want a new PC so that u can keep in touch with friends and family (build relationships), grow spiritually via powerhouse devotional blog!! ...then good reason loh! ;) So I don't think it's wrong to want earthly possessions provided the intention is in line with Godly principles.

Food for thot:
"using earthly treasures to build heavenly treasures"....asking God to give u something so that you can bless Him with it and also blessing others....:)

Hi Bob,
That is good advice. "using earthly treasures to build up heavenly treasures". Must bear in mind not to be too engrossed with our wordly possessions though. Only treasure that lasts are those that we store up in heaven.
God has said that He will grant us the desires of our heart (but of course our desires must be in line with His teachings)so do not be afraid to ask. Just pray for it.
Btw, there are hidden treasures in our Bible, why not be on the lookout for them daily?
