Remember God's goodness

Today's word: 1 Samuel 7:7-12

7 When the Philistines heard that Israel had assembled at Mizpah, the rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. And when the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines. 8 They said to Samuel, "Do not stop crying out to the LORD our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines." 9 Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it up as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on Israel's behalf, and the LORD answered him.

10 While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the LORD thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites. 11 The men of Israel rushed out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, slaughtering them along the way to a point below Beth Car.

12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, [a] saying, "Thus far has the LORD helped us."

How about you?
Do you have a way of remembering the things tha Lord has done for you? Have you received some special answers to prayer, or has God protected you in a dangerous situation? Maybe He's helped you through a hard class at school or a hard time at work. Why don't you try to keep a record of what God has done for you? Don't do it to dwell on the past, but do it to be reminded of God's great help when you're faced with a difficult situation.

To memorize: Psalm 59:16
But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble.

Great idea to have a record of God's Blessings. Yeah, we should count our blessings and be thankful of the great works that the Lord has done. Should always praise and honour God for His mercy and grace. Gonna start a journal. Just three nights ago, the Lord showed me once again that He indeed knows what is going on.

I do keep a journal of prayer items and answered/unanswered prayers. And looking back to entries in the past, always reminds me that even though there had been difficult and trying times, somehow God did pull me through.

I've got a journal that i've had since first year at uni.That's like 7 years ago. It's interesting to reflect back occasionally on how God has journeyed with me in my christian walk. Also to see prophecies over my life....what has come to past, and what is still yet to come
