God's way is best

Today's word: 1 Peter 3:12-17

12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."[a]

13Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear[b]; do not be frightened."[c] 15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

How about you?
Is it hard for your non-Christian friends to understand why you won't join them in cheating, swearing, or treating someone unkindly? Do you get teased for doing what is right? God says it's better to suffer for well-doing than evil-doing. Continue to follow His way, even when your friends don't understand.

To memorize: 1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God

Indeed, God's way is always best.

"A liitle light can disperse great darkness" (from recent article in ODB).

Be steadfast and stand fast for Christ. Do not be influenced by our non-Christian peers. Instead we should try to get them to know and receive the glad tidings of Salvation. Shine for the Lord and bring light to those who are walking in darkness.

God's infinite love is the most powerful force that will bring on a new heaven and a new earth in a world of righteousness.

God doesnt need us to defend Him. He just wants us to be His light, salt, ambassador, royal priesthood, holy nation, etc....

It's not easy to curb the desire to explain why we choose to behave differently. Recently the Lord inspired me to reply someone with one simple sentence in a simple, straightforward, matter-of-fact way - "It's a choice I make".

I didnt lose the friendship nor did I alienate the person. Rather, I believe by merely stating a fact without judging the other person, I received respect. And I believe the other person was relieved!

One thing though, I was glad that I had sought the Lord beforehand. I had been troubled for some time about this friend's behaviour. But didnt have opportunity to speak out. Prayed about it. And had no immediate answer. But when the moment came to speak, truly, as I opened my mouth, the Lord filled it. Praise God!
