Obey those in charge

Today's word: Colossians 3:22-25

22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.

How about you?
Sure you get tired of being bossed around! But remember, God has placed people in authority over you to save you a lot of heartache. You will never be sorry for being obedient.

To memorize: Hebrews 13:17
Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.

I think we should only obey those in authority if what we are asked to do is in line with the teaching of Jesus.

There will be times when a judgement call is necessary as
leaders or those in charge can unfortunately also fall under the
influence of the devil.

That being said, we should always strive to do the best we can. And to help us to do so, we should "Do it for The Lord".

Ps Ben shared....the we must be willing followers our our leader(s). What is a leader without any followers! ;)
