Today's word: Psalm 119:9-16
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.

that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, O LORD;
teach me your decrees.

all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
How about you?
Are you keeping your Bible looking nice but unused? Is the Bible a part of your everyday life? Remember, it's your spiritual food. Don't neglect those meals.

Was reminded of this message recently. Read God's Word, meditate on it and try to memorise relevant verses for future need (can be a powerful weapon against the enemy).
Yeah, must confess not really going into it as I should. Must be more determined and organised to fully benefit from this.

Hi, Would like to share some of the uniqueness of Psalm 119.
Longest chapter of the Bible with 176 verses in this Psalm.
22 stanzas all with 8 verses each.
The first word of each stanza starts with one of the Hebrew alphabet which has 22 alphabets only.(ie. stanza 1 starts with the Hebrew a, stanza 2 with b ,stanza 3 with c and so forth.)
The Psalmist here is most probably Daniel and not King David. It was specifically designed to bring forth the goodness of God's Word to from "A to Z". It is meant to remind us that God's truth and faithfulness endures forever.
Psalm 119 saved the the life of George Wishart, Bishop of Edinburgh in the 18th. Century as he was about to be hanged when his expected royal pardon was somehow delayed. Taking advantage of the time honoured tradition of allowing the condemned man to pray a psalm, Bishop Wishart chose to recite the whole text of Psalm 119.
Before he finished praying, the delayed pardon arrived and thus his life was spared. [taken from a Devotional Newsletter by Pastor Dr. Sam Horn last year from the Internet.]

The sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God is the offensive
piece of the armour of God. (Eph.6:17)
We can learn to make use of this gift from God to give Satan a whack
on the backside if the sly rascal try to be funny by manifesting the glorious power of our Lord's name.
Relevant scripture passages that we have managed to memorised can be likened to fragmentation grenades that we can throw at the enemy forces. Let's get ourselves armed. Read the Word of God daily.
