Let Jesus shine through you

Today's word: John 1:1-9

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.

3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.[b]

How about you?
Have you been brightening up the world or casting shadows? Can others see the light of Jesus shining through you? Regular church attendance, private devotions, and time spend in prayer will help you to be cheerful Christian who brightens the lives of others.

To memorize: Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

don't know whether I'm successfully brightening up the world but I know u guys definitely are!!!

who are u guys?? i tot u re one of us...

All Powerhouse members can and do light up for God. When the Gears Connect and Ignite, what do you think happens. "The light comes on" right? Oh Yeah!!

All the section leaders are shining forth and I see you Justin and you Venetia and you Christine and you Adelyne as amongst some of the brightest. You all and some the younger ones as well are doing great. Be encouraged to shine even brighter in the year of our Lord 2006 and beyond.

No need to mention our leaders Bobby and Susan as their light is already so bright that it hurts sometimes. If they keep it up diligently, I need to look for a pair of sun shades. [I may jest in fun but what I say is true.]

Hey Adele, Matt.5:16 happens to be one of my favourites too. Yeah, it is indeed sad to see Christians whose light has been dimmed or extinguished. I can understand yr
feelings but maybe we should say a short prayer for them to come back to the right path and as for those who call themselves Christians in name only, may the Light of Jesus pierce the shroud of darkness with which they have wrapped themselves.
It is definitely not easy to deal with such people...

Hi Venetia, What, you dont even know that u r shining?? Well, let me tell you that you do. You can be an inspiration to others!

"Let the light of Jesus shine forth
and let His love flow through you to others".

Not that easy to do but not really that tough either. Sometimes it comes naturally and sometimes we need to work at it. What is important is that we are willing to try. Happy shining!

Hi ppl, I've been realising that sometimes ppl comment like...i'm not sure if i'm shinning, etc....but u are!! ;) maybe it's the asian culture to be modest? but i reckon it is important to testify and say that yes...i'm a better person now...i'm shinning for the Lord now...because of what the Lord has done in my life. Don't be shy to tell the world of how God has changed our lives. And yes....that means saying good things...and acknowledging good things in your life! If we are too modest about it, then how do we glorify God?

Philippians 3:2-4
For we who worship God in the Spirit[a] are the only ones who are truly circumcised. We put no confidence in human effort. Instead, we boast about what Christ Jesus has done for us.
