Stand for right

Today's word: Matthew 5:10-12

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

How about you?
Have you ever taken a stand for your convictions? Have you said no to an invitation to smoke? Have you refused to listen to dirty jokes? Have you spoken up for the Lord when evolution was tought? Taking a stand is not easy, and the immediate results are not always pleasant. But remember, the testing time will soon pass, and your reward for doing right wil be eternal.

To memorize: 2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all

It is great when we can stand up for our convictions but it is really tough to do so. However, when we compare our current times with those of the Old Testament period, we are quite lucky that we not thrown into prison or even killed for our beliefs.

Praise the Lord for coming to our rescue. We are so blessed to have
Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.

We must always remember our final destination so that we can try to live a righteous life in this world. Let us pray that our faith will remain strong during trials and hardships that we my have to endure.

To experience moments of weaknesses is quite natural. I have failed to speak up when I ought to, only to regret that I did not do what I should. That is why we must have fellowship together more often. So that we can encourage and uphold each other and through testimonials,
strengthen our individual faith
to stand up for the Lord amongst non-believers. Spiritual food will also build up our resolve to do the right thing, so read the daily devotional each and every day...

i still think last time and today hasnt changed much. there is definitely persecution and stuff. we have it in china and indonesia. in the future when christians in malaysia rise up, going to jail or die will become a normal phenomena. if spreading the gospel is going from jerusalem and back to jerusalem, probably it is almost time. coz as i heard from my uncle the chinese churches (probably some) are going to a seminar in HK to learn how to speak to the islams. coz they are dealing with lives now, so.. idk probably they'll talk about tactics. its either we are so blessed now, or lazy, or not bold enough, or we are js living an easy life. but still, God's timing.. God's timing.. we just cant see it yet.

i would say that i haven reach out much yet or none coz around me are mostly christians, and my other religion friends are so friendly and good. they dont make you feel bad. maybe time has changed, ppl are more polite nowadays i guess?

hey Ven, you are right. There are countries in the world where the Christian faith cannot be practised freely.

When I mentioned the Old Testament days, I was thinking more of Christians being thrown into lion dens or being crucified or speared to death. A terrible time to live in...

Let us be thankful that Malaysia has freedom of worship, especially in Sabah where I feel God has made the State the revival capital of Asia. We are going to be in the forefront and you young people are the mighty third wave of the Joshua
generation. Cool, yah?

You are lucky to be blessed with good friends. Pray for their salvation and it will come to pass.

It is time to "make disciples" of others...

ngam ngam earlier today I just released Open Doors' latest publication to the Library for folks to read. Its called "Concern". Only A5 size, it's small for quick reading, but it will make a big impact in the life of the reader. It's about our suffering and persecuted brethren in the world today. Feel free to check it out.
