Be thankful for freedom

Today's word: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

How about you?
People have died to give you freedom to worship God. Jesus died to give you freedom from sin. Remember this often. Give thanks for the sacrifices which were made so you can be free.

To memorize: Luke 22:19
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."

Yes, our Lord Jesus suffered such agony to die on our behalf, His precious blood was the price of our redemption. We will always praise and honour our Saviour for His glorious sacrifice on Calvary's Cross.

We should also remember those missionaries who went to foreign lands to preach and for many, to die far far away from home. We owe these early missionaries a great deal for preaching the Gospel and bringing the glad tidings of Salvation to us all. Let us thank our heavenly Father for sending those early missionaries to Sabah, North Borneo to cater to our needs and for the comparative freedom of worship in our blessed country.

It is the calling of all Christians
to bring others to know Jesus and we must endeavour to do it in whatever way we can.

Keep focussed on Jesus for "The joy of the Lord is our strength".

May God grant us the wisdom to be fruitful and faithful servants...

This devotional passage really reminds me of Ps Bios sermon end of March. About how someone has sacrificed for us to be where we are. Be it the early missionaries, early leaders of the churches etc. But above all, let us not forget or even take for granted the ultimate sacrifice -our Lord Jesus Christ
